Daily activities that provide practice and review of the Decoding Strategy.
Skill Practice in Small Groups

Station 1:
Teacher-led Group
Station 2:
Para-led group
Station 3: Listening Center
Practice decoding and encoding multi-syllabic words using WordBuilder.
Game-based review of phonics patterns.
Students individually listen to audio books.
Repeated Reading for Fluency and Comprehension

Units 1-7: Oral Fluency Practice
Units 8-15: Transition to Silent Reading
Units 16-18: Silent Reading Practice
Students read aloud in carefully selected grade level texts using Choral Reading Activities.
Students switch to silent reading using individualized instructional level text and Strategic Rereading.
Teacher gradually raises the level of text for silent reading with ongoing use of Strategic Rereading.
